Welcome to Sewing!

I am Anna and I run relaxed and informal sewing lessons for aspiring sewers. If you have always wanted to sew, or just recently decided to give it a go, this is the place to come.

My Mormor always sewed clothes for my sister and I. As a child I remember always treading very carefully across the floor upstairs as inevitability there would always be a pin lurking ready to attack my bare foot. Luckily this hasn't put me off sewing and I now want to share the joy of sewing with others. For the last 16 years I have worked in a school and although I love teaching my love for sewing has lured me away to set up my own sewing business.

My sewing studio is located in the beautiful Purbecks in Dorset. I have sewing machines for you to use. A higher cutting table, scissors, iron etc. I even have a projector for PDF patterns!

I encourage everyone to bring their own pins for hygiene reasons*. Please bring your own  mug as we usually stop for a cuppa'!

If you are interested in sewing contact me directly and we can arrange a suitable class and time.

If you or I feel unwell lessons will be suspended until further notice.

* We all put them in out mouth at some stage - ooops!

From the roundabout on the A351 turn onto Furzebrook Rd - signed to Blue Pool. The road climbs and curves round to the left. As it straightens and flattens out I'm  on the right; there is a sign for Furzebrook Studios.   Drive through the gate and there is a large carpark.

Hello Anna - just want to let you know that I'm wearing my yoga pants and they are rather fine. Thanks for your help.

Hi Anna.

I know it was over two months ago but I really enjoyed my sewing lesson day with you, as I have never sewed before and am in my mid seventies. While sewing I was also saying to myself, Anna said place you hands here or do this.

So in the lockdown period I made my sail it took me 3 or 4 days in all, and to get 18ft of stiff sail cloth through the machine was a struggle at times, the corners were left to last and easy to do.

My friend Anna from Sew Many Things
made this picture of Rolo from a photo. She is going to sew him onto a cushion of our choice. Absolutely love it x
